Crochemmi

Round 1 - Yarn A

Depending on preference either make a magic circle or a chain 4 ring. Chain 1 (doesn't count as a stitch) and do 16 dc into the ring. Join to 1st dc with a slip stitch. Do not cut yarn.

Round 2 - Yarn A

Chain 1 (doesn’t count as a stitch), 2 loop puff stitch into 1st dc, chain1, repeat in each dc until end (16 2 loop puff stitches, 16 chain 1 spaces). Slip stitch into 1st puff stitch to join.

Round 3 - Yarn B

Join into any chain 1 space with a standing tc. Chain 1, tc into the same space (a v-stitch). Repeat into each chain 1 space 15 more times. Join to the top of the first standing tc with a slip stitch and do not cut yarn. (32 tc, 16 chain 1 spaces).

Round 4 - Yarn B

Slip stitch into next chain 1 space. Skip the next 2 tc and into the next chain 1 space make 5 tc (creating a petal). Slip stitch into the next chain 1 space. Repeat 7 more times creating 8 petals. Join to 1st slip stitch. (8 petals of 5 tc, 8 slip stitches).

Round 5 - Yarn A

Into any slip stitch from round 4 make 5 tc skip next 2 tc, back post dc around the next tc (should be the 3rd of 5 tcs from round 4), repeat to end, join with ss to 1st treble crochet (8 groups of 5 tc, 8 bpdc).

Round 6 - Yarn A

Join into any bpdc with a standing double crochet, 2 more dc into the same stitch, 1 dc into the back loop only of the next 5 tc from round 5. Repeat 7 more times, do not cut yarn (8 groups of 3dc, 8 groups of 5blodc).

Round 7 - Yarn A

Chain 1 (does not count as stitch), 2 loop puff stitch into same stitch, chain 1, skip next stitch. Repeat 31 more times, join with a slip stitch to the first puff stitch (32 puff stitches, 32 chain 1 spaces).

Round 8 - Yarn A

Join into any chain 1 space with a dc, chain 1, skip puff stitch, repeat 31 more times, join with a slip stitch to the first dc (32 dc, 32 chain 1 spaces).

Round 9 - Yarn B

Join into any chain 1 space with a standing t2tog, chain 2, skip dc, repeat 31 more times, join to the first t2tog (32 t2tog, 32 chain 2 spaces).

Round 10 - Yarn A

Join around any t2tog with a standing bphtc crochet, 2 dc into chain2 space, repeat 31 more times and join to the first bphtc with a slip stitch, don’t cut yarn (32 bphtc, 64 dc).

Round 11 - Yarn A

Chain1 (doesn’t count as a stitch), dc into same stitch, chain 5, skip 5 stitches and dc into next bphtc, repeat 15 more times and join with a slip stitch to first dc, don’t cut yarn (16 dc, 16 chain 5 spaces).

Round 12 - Yarn A

Join into any chain 5 space with a standing dc, 4 more dc into the same space, chain 1, skip the dc from round 11, repeat 15 more times, join with a slip stitch to 1st dc (80 dc, 16 chain 1 spaces).

Round 13 - Yarn B

Working in front of the chain 1 space from round 12, into any dc from round 11 make a 5tc popcorn, chain 3, skip 2 dc from round 12 and dc into the next stitch (3rd dc of the 5), chain 3. Repeat 15 more times and join to the 1st popcorn (16 popcorns, 32 chain 3 spaces, 16 dc).

Round 14 - Yarn A

Into any chain 3 space to the right of a dc from round 13 join with a standing tc, make 3 more tc into the same chain space, chain 1 and skip the dc, 4 tc in the next chain 3 space, chain 1 and skip the popcorn. Repeat 15 more times and join to the first tc with a slip stitch (128 tc, 32 chain 1 spaces).

Round 15 - Yarn B

Join with a tc in the chain 1 space above a popcorn from round 13, chain 1, make another tc, chain 1, tc, chain 1, tc, chain 1, tc into the same space (so 5 tc 4 chain 1 spaces), chain 1, dc into the next chain 1 space, repeat 15 more times and join to first tc with a slip stitch (16 petals of 5 tc and 4 chain 1 spaces, 16dc, 32 chain 1 spaces to each side of the petals).

Round 16 - Yarn A

Join around the 1st of any tc with a back post double crochet, dc into the next chain 1 space, bpdc around the next tc, dc into the next chain1 space, bpdc around the next tc, dc into the next chain 1 space, bpdc around the next tc, dc into the next chain 1 space, bpdc around the final tc in the petal (so each tc has a bpdc around it and each chain space between the trebles has a dc into it), chain 2 and skip all stitches until the next tc, repeat 15 more times and join to 1st bpdc with a slip stitch (80 bpdc, 64 dc, 16 chain 2 spaces).

Round 17 - Yarn A

I advise cutting the yarn even though you will be using the same colour from round 16 to make a neater finish but of course you can just slip stitch to the required stitch if you prefer. At the end of this round you will likely find it turns inwards, don’t worry as it will resolve in the next few rounds. Join with a dc into the 3rd bpdc of any petal, chain 6, *skip 4 stitches chain 2 space and 4 more stitches if the next petal and dc into the next bpdc (the 3rd bpdc of the petal), chain 6* and repeat * to * 14 more times and join with a slip stitch to the 1st dc, don’t cut yarn (16 dc, 16 chain 6 spaces).

Round 18 - Yarn A

You’ll find the work turning inwards even worse in this round, it will resolve. Slip stitch into the chain 6 space, chain 1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) and make 7 dc into the chain 6 space. Chain 1 and skip the dc, repeat 15 more times and join to the 1st dc with a slip stitch (112 dc, 16 chain 1 spaces).

Round 19 - Yarn B

This round is the trickiest in the whole blanket, please read carefully. Join with a dc into any chain 1 space from round 18, 5 tc popcorn into the chain1 space beneath in round 17, dc into same space as the 1st dc. Dtc into the chain 1 space to the left of the dc from round 15, skipping the 1st dc from round 18 back loop dc into the next 5 dc, skip last dc, dtc into the chain 1 space to the right of the dc from round 15, repeat 15 more times and join with a slip stitch into the 1st dc (112 dc, 16 popcorns, 32 dtc).

Round 20 - Yarn A

Join into any popcorn with a tc, chain 2, tc into same space (this is a v-stitch), chain 2, skip 4 stitches and dc into the next stitch (should be the 3rd dc of the 5 from round 19) chain 2. Repeat 15 more times, join to the 1st tc and do not cut yarn (16 v-stitches, 16 dc, 32 chain 2 spaces).

Round 21 - Yarn A

Chain 3 (counts as 1 tc), into the chain 2 space of the v-stitch do 2 dtc, chain 2, 2dtc, tc into next tc, into the chain 2 space do 2tc, into the dc do 1htc, into the next chain 2 space do 2htc, into the tc do 1 dc, into the chain 2 space do 2 dc, into the tc do 1 dc, in chain 2 space do 2 htc, into dc do 1 htc, into chain 2 space do 2 tc, repeat 7 more times and join with a slip stitch to top of chain 3 space (32 dtc, 48tc, 48htc, 32 dc).

Round 22 - Yarn B

Join into any chain 2 corner space with dc, chain 2 and dc into same space, dc into the next 20 stitches, repeat 7 more times and join to the 1st dc (136dc, 8 chain 2 spaces).

Round 23 - Yarn A

Join into any chain 2 corner space with tc, chain 2 tc into the same chain 2 space, skip stitch, chain 1, t2tog, chain 1, skip stitch, repeat 9 more times until next corner is reached. Repeat 7 more times and join with slip stitch to 1st tc (80 t2tog, 96 chain 1 spaces, 32 tc, 8 chain 2 spaces).

Round 24 - Yarn B

Into any corner space do dc, chain 2 dc, dc into each stitch and chain 1 space to the next corner, repeat 7 more times and join with a slip stitch to the 1st dc (216dc, 8 chain 2 spaces).
