Round 1 - Yarn A
Depending on preference make either a magic circle or chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring. Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), then work 16 dc into the ring. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc. Do not cut yarn.
Round 2 - Yarn A
Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), work an HTC2Tog into the first dc, chain 1. Repeat around, working one HTC2Tog into each dc, followed by a chain 1. Join with a slip stitch to the first HTC2Tog. Cut yarn.
Stitch count: 16 HTC2Tog, 16 chain-1 spaces
Round 3 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B into any chain-1 space with a standing tc. Chain 1, then work 1 tc into the same space to form a V-stitch. Repeat in each of the remaining 15 chain-1 spaces.
Join with a slip stitch to the top of the first standing tc. Do not cut yarn.
Stitch count: 32 tc, 16 chain-1 spaces
Round 4 - Yarn B
Slip stitch into the next chain-1 space. Skip the next 2 tc and work 5 tc into the following chain-1 space to create a petal. Slip stitch into the next chain-1 space.
Repeat this sequence 7 more times, creating 8 petals in total. Join with a slip stitch to the first slip stitch.
Stitch count: 8 petals of 5 tc, 8 slip stitches
Round 5 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a standing bpdc around the 3rd tc of any petal. Work 5 tc into the next slip stitch, then work a bpdc around the 3rd tc of the next petal. Repeat around, working 5 tc into each slip stitch and a bpdc around the 3rd tc of each petal. Join with a slip stitch to the first bpdc.
Stitch count: 8 groups of 5 tc, 8 bpdc
Round 6 - Yarn A
Join Yarn B with a standing dc into any bpdc from Round 5. Work 2 more dc into the same stitch, then work 1 dc in the back loop only of each of the next 5 tc from Round 5. Repeat this sequence 7 more times. Do not cut yarn.
Stitch count: 8 groups of 3 dc, 8 groups of 5 BLO dc (64 dc)
Round 7 - Yarn A
Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), work an HTC2Tog into the same stitch, chain 2, skip the next stitch. Repeat this sequence 31 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first HTC2Tog.
Stitch count: 32 HTC2Tog, 32 chain-2 spaces
Round 8 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a dc into any chain-2 space. Chain 2, skip the next HTC2Tog, then work a dc into the next chain-2 space. Repeat this sequence 31 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc.

Round 9 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a standing T2Tog into any chain-2 space. Chain 2, skip the next dc. Repeat this sequence 31 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first T2Tog.

Round 10 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A around any T2Tog with a standing BPHTC. Work 2 dc into the following chain-2 space. Repeat this sequence 31 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first BPHTC. Do not cut yarn.

Round 11 - Yarn A
Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), work 1 dc into the same stitch. Chain 6, skip the next 5 stitches and work 1 dc into the next BPHTC. Repeat this sequence 15 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc. Do not cut yarn.
Stitch count: 16 dc, 16 chain-6 spaces
Round 12 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a standing dc into any chain-6 space. Work 4 more dc into the same space, chain 2, skip the dc from Round 11, then repeat this sequence 15 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc.
Stitch count: 80 dc, 16 chain-2 spaces
Round 13 - Yarn B
Working in front of the chain-2 space from Round 12, join Yarn B by making a popcorn into any dc from Round 11. Chain 3, skip the first 2 dc of the next group of 5 dc from Round 12, then work 1 dc into the 3rd dc of the group. Chain 3. Repeat this sequence 15 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first popcorn.
Stitch count: 16 popcorns, 32 chain-3 spaces, 16 dc
Round 14 - Yarn A
Into any chain-3 space to the right of a dc from Round 13, join Yarn A with a standing tc. Work 3 more tc into the same chain-3 space. Chain 1, skip the dc, then work 4 tc into the next chain-3 space. Chain 1, skip the popcorn. Repeat this sequence 15 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first tc.
Stitch count: 128 tc, 32 chain-1 spaces
Round 15 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a dc into the chain-1 space above any popcorn from Round 13. Chain 1, then work 5 tc into the next chain-1 space, placing a chain 1 between each tc. Chain 1, then work 1 dc into the following chain-1 space. Repeat this sequence 15 more times.
Stitch count: 16 petals, each containing 5 tc with 4 chain-1 spaces between the tc; 16 dc; 96 chain-1 spaces in total
Round 16 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a dc in the back loop only of the 1st tc of any petal. Work 1 dc in the back loop only of each of the remaining 4 tc and 1 dc into each of the 4 chain-1 spaces across the petal.
Chain 1, skip the next chain-1 space, dc and chain-1 space. Repeat this sequence around.
Stitch count: 144 dc, 16 chain-1 spaces
Round 17 - Yarn A
I advise cutting the yarn at the end of Round 16, even though you will be using the same colour for Round 17, as this will give a neater finish. Alternatively, you can slip stitch to the required stitch if you prefer.
At the end of this round, you may find that the work turns inwards. Don't worry; this will resolve over the next few rounds.
Join Yarn A with a dc into the 3rd BLO dc of any petal (the 5th stitch across the petal). Chain 7.
Skip the remaining 4 stitches of the petal, skip the following chain-1 space, dc and chain-1 space, then skip the first 4 stitches of the next petal. Work 1 dc into the 3rd BLO dc of the next petal. Chain 7. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc. Do not cut yarn.
Stitch count: 16 dc, 16 chain-7 spaces
Round 18 - Yarn A
You may find that the work turns inwards even more in this round. Don't worry; it will resolve over the next few rounds.
Slip stitch into any chain-7 space. Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), then work 7 dc into the same chain-7 space. Chain 3, skip the dc from Round 17, then repeat this sequence 15 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc.

Round 19 - Yarn B
<b>This round is the trickiest in the whole blanket, please read carefully.</b>
Join Yarn B with a dc into any chain-3 space from Round 18. Make a 5-tc popcorn into the dc directly beneath it from Round 17, then work a dc into the same chain-3 space as the first dc.
Work 1 dtc into the chain-1 space to the left of the dc from Round 15. Skip the first dc from Round 18, then work 1 dc in the back loop only of each of the next 5 dc. Skip the final dc of the group of 7 dc from Round 18. Work 1 dtc into the chain-1 space to the right of the dc from Round 15.
Repeat this sequence 15 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc.
Stitch count: 112 dc, 16 popcorns, 32 dtc
Round 20 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a tc into any popcorn from Round 19. Chain 2, then work 1 tc into the same popcorn. Chain 3, skip the first 4 stitches of the next group of 5 dc from Round 19, then work 1 dc into the 3rd dc of the group. Chain 3. Repeat this sequence 15 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first tc. Do not cut yarn.
Stitch count: 16 V-stitches, 16 dc, 32 chain-3 spaces
Round 21 - Yarn A
Chain 3 (counts as 1 tc). Into the chain-2 space, work 2 dtc, chain 1, then 2 dtc. Work 1 tc into the next tc. Into the next chain-3 space, work 2 tc. Into the dc, work 1 htc. Into the next chain-3 space, work 2 htc. Into the next tc, work 1 dc. Into the chain-2 space, work 2 dc. Into the next tc, work 1 dc. Into the next chain-3 space, work 2 htc. Into the dc, work 1 htc. Into the next chain-3 space, work 2 tc. Work 1 tc into the next tc. Repeat 7 more times and join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain 3.

Round 22 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a dc into any chain-1 corner space. Chain 1, then work 1 dc into the same space. Skip the first dc after the corner space, then work 1 dc into each of the next 19 stitches.
Repeat this sequence 7 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc.

Round 23 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A into any chain-1 corner space with a tc. Chain 1, then work 1 tc into the same corner space.
Skip the first dc from Round 22, chain 1, then work an HTC2Tog into the next dc. Chain 1, skip the next dc, then repeat the sequence until the next corner is reached, working 10 HTC2Tog in total along each side. Repeat around the remaining 7 sides and join with a slip stitch to the first tc.

Round 24 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a standing dc into any corner chain-1 space. Chain 1, then work 1 dc into the same corner space. Work 1 dc into each stitch and chain-1 space along the side until the next corner is reached. Repeat this sequence 7 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the first dc.
