Round 1 - Yarn A
Depending on preference, either make a magic circle or chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), then make 12 dc into the ring. Join to the first dc with a slip stitch. Do not cut the yarn.
Stitch count: 12 dc
Round 2 - Yarn A
Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), then make 1 htc2tog into the dc, ch 1. Repeat around, working 1 htc2tog into each dc and ch 1 between each stitch. Join to the first htc2tog with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 12 htc2tog, 12 ch-1 spaces
Round 3 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a standing dc into any htc2tog. Working around the round, make 1 dc into each htc2tog and each ch-1 space. Join to the first dc with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 24 dc
Round 4 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a standing tc in any stitch. Make 1 tc into the same stitch, ch 1, skip the next stitch, then make 2 tc into the next stitch.
Repeat this sequence around. Join to the first tc with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 24 tc, 12 ch-1 spaces
Round 5 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a standing dc into the first treble of any pair of trebles.
Make 1 dc into the next tc, then 1 dtc into the dc below the skipped stitch from Round 3. Make 1 dc into each of the next 2 tc, then 1 dtc into the next skipped stitch from Round 3.
Repeat this sequence around. Join to the first dc with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 24 dc, 12 dtc
Round 6 - Yarn A
The work will likely cup slightly at this point. This will resolve in later rounds, but you can ease the cupping by going up a hook size if preferred.
Join Yarn A with a standing dc into any stitch.
Make 1 dc into each of the next 7 stitches, 2 dc into the next stitch, 1 dc into each of the next 8 stitches, 2 dc into the next stitch, 1 dc into each of the next 8 stitches, 2 dc into the next stitch, 1 dc into each of the next 8 stitches, then 2 dc into the last stitch.
Join to the first dc with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 40 dc
Round 7 - Yarn B

Join Yarn B with a standing tc into any dc that was made into a dtc in Round 5. Make another tc into the same stitch, then ch 2 and make 2 tc into the same stitch to create the first corner.
Make 1 tc into the next stitch, htc into each of the next 2 stitches, dc into each of the next 3 stitches, htc into each of the next 2 stitches, then 1 tc into the next stitch.
Into the next stitch, make 2 tc, ch 2, 2 tc to create the next corner.
Repeat the sequence around, creating four corners in total. Join to the first tc with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 4 corners of 2 tc, ch 2, 2 tc; 8 tc, 16 htc, 12 dc
Round 8 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a standing dc into any corner. Make another dc into the same stitch, ch 2, then make 2 dc into the same stitch to complete the corner.
Make 1 dc into each of the next 13 stitches.
Repeat around, working a corner into each corner space and 1 dc into each of the next 13 stitches between corners.
Join to the first dc with a slip stitch.

Round 9 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a tc into any corner. Make another tc into the same stitch, ch 1, then make 2 tc into the same stitch to complete the corner.
Make 1 tc into each of the next 17 stitches.
Repeat around, working a corner into each corner space and 1 tc into each of the next 17 stitches between corners.
Join to the first tc with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 4 corners of 2 tc, ch 1, 2 tc; 68 tc between corners
Round 10 - Yarn A
Join Yarn A with a standing tc into any corner. Ch 2, then make 1 tc into the same stitch to complete the corner.
Ch 1, skip the next stitch, then make 1 htc2tog into the following stitch.
Repeat around the side, working ch 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 htc2tog into the next stitch.
Repeat around the entire round, working a corner at each corner space. Join to the first tc with a slip stitch.
Stitch count: 4 corners of tc, ch 2, tc; 40 htc2tog, 44 ch-1 spaces
Round 11 - Yarn B
Join Yarn B with a standing dc into any corner. Make 1 dc into the same stitch, ch 2, then make 2 dc into the same stitch to complete the corner.
Make 1 dc into each of the next 23 stitches and ch-1 spaces.
Repeat around, working a corner into each corner space and 1 dc into each of the next 23 stitches and ch-1 spaces.
Join to the first dc with a slip stitch.
